APPRENTICE MOTORCYCLE & POWERSPORTS MECHANIC

Job description
Peak Powersports is currently recruiting an experienced Level 1 or Level 2 Apprentice Motorcycle and Powersports Mechanic for busy Indian, KTM, Polaris and Slingshot dealership located in Oakville.
Peak Powersports is one of Canada’s leading Indian™, Polaris™, Slingshot™, and KTM authorized dealers. As one of our trained Mechanics you will have the opportunity to work on all these amazing brands.
Employment Type Full Time Tuesday-Friday 9:00am-5pm and Saturdays 9am-3pm
Benefits option after 90 days
Wage based on experience
Primary Responsibilities and Requirements:

• Valid driver/motorcycle license (GM).
• Own tools applicable to the trade. (Specialty tools supplied)
• Mechanically inclined - Diagnostic and maintenance skills with both carbureted and fuel injected engines.
• Indian, Polaris, KTM and Slingshot product line and maintenance experience an asset
• Brand specific training will be provided and required
• Focused on Motorcycle, ATV, off road, and snowmobile experience and maintenance
• Work well with minimal supervision, communicate well with fellow co-works and customers in a busy fast paced environment
• Basic computer skills
• Maintain a clean organized workspace
• Ability to excel in a collaborative team environment.
• Available to work a flexible schedule based on seasonal requirements.
• Highly motivated and goal oriented and pursuing 310G designation.
• Strong organizational and time management skills
• A passion motorcycles, powersports in general and a love for the open road!

Requirements:

• Class G & full M license for a minimum of 1 year
• Level 1 or level 2 motorcycle apprentice
• Basic computer knowledge
• Reliable transportation

Job description

Current hours of operation: Tuesday-Friday 9am-5pm and Saturdays 9am-3pm

Salary based on experience
Primary Responsibilities:

• Diagnostic and maintain both carbureted and fuel injected vehicles. (Motorcycle, ATV, Side by Side, Slingshot and Snowmobile)
• Operation of all types of powersports vehicles in a safe manner for diagnosis and verification of repair
• Preparation and deliver inspection of new vehicles
• Accessory installation of OEM and aftermarket components on new and serviced vehicles
• Cleaning of new and serviced vehicles for customers

Requirements:

• Clean class G license for a minimum of 1 year
• Clean M1or M2. M license preferred
• 310G designation
• Own tools applicable to the trade, based on level of skill. (Specialty tools supplied)
• Basic computer skills
• Work well with minimal supervision, communicate well with fellow co-works and customers in a busy fast paced environment
• Maintain a clean organized workspace
• Ability to excel in a collaborative team environment.
• Available to work a flexible schedule including some evenings (as required)
• Highly motivated to learn and achieve Journeyman license
• Strong organizational and time management skills
• A passion for the powersports industry
• Indian, Polaris, KTM and Slingshot product line and maintenance experience an asset
